Japanese astronaut Takuya Onishi has described the 4 months he spent on the International Space Station as a fulfilling time.
Onishi spoke to reporters after he and 2 other crew members returned to Earth on Sunday in a Russian Soyuz spacecraft.
He was carried out of the spacecraft about 20 minutes after it landed on a plain in Kazakhstan in Central Asia. He said the Earth’s air smells great, and he is in good health. A ceremony was held at a nearby airport to celebrate the crew’s return.
